Insomnia Sound Bible - Track #4
The difference between "in here" and "out there" is only a matter of acceptance.
[Don’t think about this unless you have to…consciousness isn't necessary].
“Vaguely molding into deep sustain
and sitting in a picture frame.
Just sit beneath the sun, and you'll feel your body start to way a ton in a bubble that becomes your mind and you'll start to find that you follow blind salvation.
I can't quite get the words out...”

You need to get more sunshine.
Back in the mid-90's when Pete and I were recording stuff that would eventually become 'Training Bra Sweat' - spending hours in various rental practice rooms in SF - occasionally we'd reach a point where 'things' simply wouldn't be 'flowing'. I should probably relate that 90% of the basic tracks (drums/guitar) of what ended up on those three wonderfully long discs was pure improv/first take. Anyway, every now and then I (more often than Pete) would get 'clogged' - trying or thinking too hard, attempting to figure out a tuning or part while 'laying it down', or just plain not letting go for whatever silly reason - and when this happened Pete would stop everything, stand up, look me dead in the eye, and say (while pointing to an imaginary spot in the sky/ceiling), "OK - I want you to go... OUT THERE. I know you know where it is. It's where we NEED TO BE. OK? Now, c'mon, let's GO!" I'd laugh, reach over and start turning tuning pegs every which way - and then heed his lovingly given instruction. I believe I can say without exaggeration that it 'worked' every time. Man, did we have FUN.
This is great, and have another version on Lip-synching At Zero Gravity (the record on Comfortstand. I saw it live at your first show.
This was recorded in your living room????
I can't quite breathe...
This is me favorite.
